DJ Yamaho

DJ Yamaho

DJ Yamaho was born in the city where House Music was born (Chicago) but grew up in Reykjavík, Iceland. Natalie a.k.a Yamaho was introduced at an early age to electronic music by listening to the likes of M.A.W., Roy Davis Jr., Kraftwerk, Blaze, Green Velvet amongst many other artists that influenced and inspired her to become a DJ.

DJ Yamaho started DJing when she turned nineteen and became Iceland’s first female DJ, where the competitive scene was dominated by male DJs, she proved herself through her skills.  After a short while, she gained the respect of her male counterparts as well as of the Icelandic clubgoers, which landed her a residency in Reykjavík’s most popular and legendary club: Sírkus (a place which saw the beginning of acts such as The Sugarcubes, Björk, etc.).  Yamaho remained as one of the main residents until the day it closed.

Today she has become one of the most sought after DJs of the Icelandic scene and has taken a regular residency at the popular Qbar. She has performed with the likes of Trentemøller, Björk, Kasper Bjørke, Hunk Of A Man & Earth (gusGus), amongst many others.  She’s also been playing regular sets at a diversity of clubs in Sweden, Denmark and Paris.

Yamaho’s mixing style is quite impressive, playing pumping techno, tech-house and a brew of her own, never leaving a dull moment on the dancefloor. Always looking for fresh tunes combined with classic tracks, Yamaho creates a night to remember, making sure she always leaves the clubber with a smile on his/her face.
